Hello fellow TN Warriors! My name is Angela Kyle-Fowlks and my TN journey started in Dublin, Ireland. Pain while eating in a pub, pain and shocks on the 10-hour flight to Seattle, Washington, and three ER visits in one week later led to a TN diagnosis.
A month later an MRI confirmed my TN nerve and a blood vessel were being pushed on by a benign tumor in my brain.
Two months later I had my tumor removed in February of 2024 and organic material from my stomach placed between my TN nerve and the blood vessel in my brain.
9 months later, November of 2024 a second craniotomy was done to remove scar tissue from surgery that was causing pain and double vision in my left eye.
Fast forward to now, 2026 and I am tumor free still, I unfortunately have lost all feeling on the left side of my face (referred to as AD), and I am on many medications to control shocks and pressure from TN. I am still hopeful to find an answer and be able to get off some of the meds I am on.
But TN is not what defines me. I am a mother of four, a wife, and currently working on completing my masters in education degree in Fall of 2026. I got my first tattoo on my 1 year brain surgery anniversary (Wonder Woman symbol with flowers) to celebrate my strength. I love coffee, Chai tea, fireplaces, and comfy blankets. Making memories with my family and therapy to work through the trauma of TN and brain surgeries are what I am focused on these days!
