Hey, my name is Kathy, I’m 48 years old and I have been a 16 year member of the Trigeminal neuralgia family. My TN was damaged twice due to surgical procedures and as such I don’t have an option for long term treatment.

I am a mum to two incredible human beings, my son Tyler is 31 and my daughter Kya is 24. So these two have been through the ringer with me. I used to have such tremendous guilt over this, feeling like I had put too much weight on them. But now when I look at them and I see the level of care and compassion they have for humanity, I have since let go of that. So please know that if you feel the way I did, know that we are creating humans with empathy.

I started this page on TikTok as I felt lost and in need of help. Over the years it’s developed into something so much better than I could have ever imagined. It’s a safe place now for members of our community that need help. With my suffering I was able to help some people, I could be a place where TN patients could come and ask questions or they just need support.

As crazy as it sounds, I have come to feel like getting TN was my purpose. Through this condition I could teach my children empathy, I am stronger and able to tackle just about anything, and most importantly I could maybe help just one person feel less alone.

Through TT I have made some incredibly supportive friends and for that I am forever grateful. So if you are suffering with this condition. Know that there is a whole community waiting to support you. You will never have to feel alone again.
